Parisian-born, New York-based conceptual artist Cyril Duval works under the fictional alter ego brand Item Idem (Latin for ‘the same’), specialising in art, fashion, branding and retail design – and it’s fair to say he has a pretty sweet resumé. Having done everything from designing Bernhard Willhelm’s flagship boutique in Tokyo to working with brands like Gucci and Comme des Garçons, Item’s also gained his fair share of notoriety over the years, having been sued by Louis Vuitton (among others). We caught up with him for an exclusive interview.

From Gorbachev’s pizzas to Snoop Dogg’s microwaved snacks, you can bet at least one agent got fired after these ridiculous ads came out.

It’s been an exciting week for bizarre celebrity endorsements. First up was Brad Pitt’s much-hyped Chanel No.5 ad, and now it’s come to our attention that Mr Snoop Lion (neé Dogg) himself has appeared in a commercial for America’s cholesterol-tastic Hot Pocket brand. FASHION: LOUIS VUITTON X YAYOI KUSAMA (WHO’S JACK ONLINE JUNE 2012)


Iconic Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama has made art history over the decades, with her conceptual sculptures, performance art, paintings and installations influencing everyone from Andy Warhol to Donald Judd.
